Sell Nude Modeling Pictures

As long as you find the appropriate market, selling nude modeling pictures can be relatively easy. Magazines and other publications that feature nude models or nude photography will most likely take an interest in your pictures. The online market for nude modeling pictures is also thriving so make sure you research and approach that market as well. Depending on the quality of your pictures, you may even be able to sell them to museums or art collectors.

From Quick Guide: Photograph the Human Body
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Research the market before you dive in. If you haven't already, familiarize yourself with the nude modeling industry. Find out what types of pictures are popular or in-demand, and try to contribute to that niche with your photos.

  2. Step 2

Narrow down a list of publications and websites that would be interested in purchasing your nude modeling pictures, and that you are comfortably selling your photos to. Obtain the editor or publisher's contact information.

  3. Step 3

Set a rate. Find out some of the common rates usually charged for nude modeling pictures. If it's your first attempt at selling your photos, you may want to set the price point a little lower. A typical picture, depending on quality, should be no more than $20.

  4. Step 4

Contact editors of the various publications that you had narrowed down earlier. Notify them of your interest to sell them your nude modeling photos. Have your predetermined rates for your photos available.

  5. Step 5

Try to set up a meeting with one or more editors, and show them your portfolio in person. An in-person meeting is best because it will give you a chance to make a stronger connection with a possible client, and thus, better your chances of selling your photos.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have a digital portfolio (in disc form) as well as a print portfolio of your photos to show prospective clients.
  • Beware of people who may try to steal your pictures. Keep a thorough record of every meeting, telephone conversation and verbal and non-verbal agreements in case any legal issues arise.

on 8/22/2009 I do agree with that last comment about people who try to steal your pictures. the procedure mentioned for finding work is also fairly logical, however, I cannot agree with that price tag of $20 for a picture sale. That is far too low!!! unless it's for a local village magazine or a tiny thumbnail you should push for higher rates even as a beginner.

When starting photographers charge very low rates it hurts all photographers in the long run including themselves. I have written a book on this subject which may be of interest at http://www.nudephotopro.com
