How to Lighten Skin Color
Whether your aim is to brighten and even out your skin tone or get that porcelain look you've always wanted, lightening your skin tone can be done naturally with ingredients you'll find in your kitchen cabinet or artificially with skin bleaching agents purchased over-the-counter. Although bleaches are available for skin whitening, you can get the milky skin you desire with natural ingredients such as lemon, buttermilk and egg whites while avoiding the risks of using harsh chemicals. Things You'll Need
- Equal parts egg whites and lemon
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. oatmeal
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tbsp. each of cucumber juice, lemon juice, tomato juice and sandalwood paste

Prepare a skin lightening cream by mixing equal parts egg white and lemon juice. Heat the mixture in a frying pan until it solidifies slightly. Store the cream in a jar in the refrigerator until cooled. Apply to skin, wait 15 minutes and rinse. Use the cream every day.

Exfoliate weekly to slough off dead skins cells. Mix 2 tbsp. each of brown sugar and oatmeal with a 1/4 cup of milk until a paste forms. Apply paste to skin and gently scrub. Rinse and follow with a moisturizer.

Make a skin mask that lightens skin in four weeks. Mix 1 tbsp. each of cucumber juice, lemon juice, tomato juice and sandalwood paste. Apply the paste to your face and wait for it to dry. Rinse with clean water and follow with a moisturizing lotion.

Drink as much water as possible each day. Water helps flush toxins from the body and may help to lighten dull skin.

Use sunblock regularly, even on cloudy days. The sun's UV rays cause skin to produce melanin, a hormone that darkens skin.
