      Nasturtiums

Know that nasturtiums are one of the most common flowers to plant as a natural insect repellent. They ward off moths, beetles, squash bugs, flies and aphids. Plant rows of nasturtiums next to rows of squash, pumpkins, cabbage, beans, cucumbers and squash.

      Marigolds

Consider that marigolds, another common repellent, are efficient at sending away beetles, worms and flies. Plant marigolds near tomatoes, asparagus, cabbage and beans.

    • 3
      Rosemary

Learn that rosemary is an aromatic culinary herb that not only adds protection to your garden, but flavor to your food when used in cooking as well. Plant rosemary near cabbage, carrots and beans.

      Chives

Be aware that horseradish should be planted near rows of potatoes, as it wards off the potato bugs. Onions, garlic and chives are potent enough to repel most insects and are therefore beneficial planted around the garden in various locations.

      White geraniums

Consider that white geraniums should be planted in an area 10 to 20 feet from your garden. The geraniums attract Japanese beetles, drawing them away from your garden, and they also act as a poison to the beetles as the beetles die after eating them. Once you have your flowers and vegetables in place, relax and know that you will enjoy the bounty of natural produce minus the dangerous pesticides.
