Calculate how much your gold jewelry would be worth if it were to be melted down. You will first need to find the current market price of gold, known as the spot price. You can get the spot price at Kitco.com, but it will be listed as the price per troy ounce (see Resources below). Divide this amount by 31.103 to get the spot price of gold per gram. Then use a digital scale to see how many grams your gold jewelry weighs. You now know what the wholesale melt value of your gold is. Never accept anything lower than this price when you are trying to sell gold jewelry.

Take your gold jewelry to some of Roswell’s pawnshops to see how much they will pay for your gold. Most any pawn shop will buy gold based on how much it weighs. They will most likely offer you an unreasonably low price, but if you point out that you know how much your jewelry is worth you may be able to negotiate a better price. Some of the pawnshops you should visit in Roswell, Georgia, include Pawn Express at (770) 640-9102, Ellis Street Pawn at (770) 641-1133 and Vault Pawn at (770) 642-4700.

Sell your gold jewelry to a jewelry store in Roswell, Georgia. Roswell has a number of jewelry stores to choose from. Some of them will buy your jewelry based on the quality, while others will offer to sell your gold jewelry on consignment. The only way to know what you will be offered is to take your gold jewelry into the store where a jeweler can take a look at it. Some of the jewelry stores you should visit in Roswell include Brown & Co. Jewelers at (770) 993-1080, Finlay Fine Jewelers at (770) 360-9994 and JWO Jewelers (770) 552-9235 (see Resources below).

Consider selling your gold jewelry to a gold buyer or wholesaler. There are businesses that specialize in buying precious metals, specifically for the purpose of melting them down to be made into new items. You may not get as much money at these locations as you could get from an individual, because the company is only interested in the melt value. However, for broken or damaged gold jewelry, you can’t go wrong with these types of businesses. Locations in Roswell that you should look into are Gold for Less at (770) 643-1335 and Espacio Silver at (770) 998-8975.

Tips & Warnings
If you can’t get a fair price for your gold jewelry in Roswell, Georgia, you may want to consider putting your jewelry up for sale on a national level. Use an online auction site such as eBay.com to auction your gold jewelry to the highest bidder (see Resources below).
Never use a mail order “refiner” such as cash4gold.com. Such companies typically pay a far rate if you are selling more than 310 g of gold, but the average person receives a rate that is basically giving the gold away for free.

I sold a bunch of gold jewelry, and my Rolex watch to Antwerp Diamonds on Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell. They showed me the current list price on the watch and paid a fair price. I was very happy. They also weighed all of my gold and their offer was 300 dollars above what I was offered at another Roswell jewelry store. -

I sold most of my old gold and some old diamonds to Meridian Diamond Co. They open only 4 days a week which was not that great but I manage to check around and got 28% more for my stuff from them compared to other places listed here. I send all my friends there. I live in Roswell so it was easy.
