Crimping paper is textured plain paper with ridges and waves. It can be used to create all types of decorative cards, crafts or gifts.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plain white/colored paper
  • Paper crimper
  1. Step 1

Cut out a piece of paper, (any color you want) about 4 ½ x 6 ½ inches. Carefully insert the paper into the Paper crimper. Position the paper to face you as it comes out of the crimper.

  2. Step 2

Hold the crimper with your left hand, while gripping the handle with your right hand. Keep the top edge parallel to the lines on the roller. Grasp the crimper handle very tightly to clamp the rollers together.

  3. Step 3

Crank the key slowly towards you, as you move the paper to create the folded ridges. After the paper is out, turn the crimped paper 90 degrees and put it back into the paper crimper again. Hold it lengthwise between the crimper’s rollers.

  4. Step 4

Let the paper pass through the crimper a second time, creating a waffle-like appearance. Now you can use the crimped paper for any type of design you like! To cut through the crimping paper, use a small knife and lightly swipe across the crimped paper until it cuts through.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use crimped paper for smaller designs of greeting cards, baby items, and other paper crafts.
  • Crafting knives do not work well on crimped paper – use a small knife instead.
