1
Choose your book title--be sure the title expresses in a few words the central thought of what your book is about. Make sure the title is not already in print. If it is, and you are committed to that particular title, don't change it completely just tweak it or customize it.
-
2
Write about a thousand words on the central focus of the book. This does not have to be very comprehensive, but it must summarize the point you want your book to make. Make sure to include all the thoughts running through your head.
-
-
3
Scour your summation article and highlight all the key points you want to expound on. List those points separately, and try to list more than less.
-
4
Write 50 to 100 words on each highlighted point that you listed. These are now all chapters or potential chapters.
-
5
Evaluate the points and put them in a comprehensive order. Determine which points can be combined with another or eliminated, base on relevancy.
-
6
Create a fact sheet on each point so that you will have a more in depth approach when writing your chapters. A fact sheet is simply legitimately researched information on a subject matter. You can create a fact sheet through many tools such as Wikipedia or the local library.
-
7
Determine how many pages you want your book to be. A good chapter in a book is about 5000 to 7000 words--about 10 pages. These numbers can vary depending on how many chapters you have or what kind of layout you choose.
-
8
Begin writing chapter by chapter in the previous order you created. Make yourself a writing schedule to keep yourself in rhythm.
