1
Select the postcards that you would like to use for your display board. You may want to make a board using postcards from several trips or you may want to make a board that covers just one trip.
-
2
Buy a bulletin board to use for your display board. Bulletin boards come in a variety of sizes and can be found at office supply stores. Before you buy a bulletin board, arrange your postcards in a rough layout and determine which bulletin board size would best fit your collection.

3
Paint your bulletin board. Choose a bright color that will contrast with the color of your cards. If most of your postcards feature water scenes, blue might not be the best choice for a background. A lighter color, or even red, will provide more contrast between the board and your collection. Before you begin painting, use painter’s tape to cover the frame if you would like the frame to be a different color than the rest of the board. When the paint has dried, place painter’s tape around the edges of the bulletin board surface and paint the frame. Use a bold color or even alternating colors when you paint the frame for more visual interest.

Add the postcards when the paint has dried. Experiment with several layouts before you permanently affix the postcards to the bulletin board. If you have small spaces to fill, you may want to cut out small areas from extra postcards and use them to fill the empty spaces. Use double-stick tape or removable adhesive to attach the postcards to the bulletin board.

5
Personalize the display board by hot gluing items on to the surface or frame. If the subject of your bulletin board is a beach trip, hot glue small shells to the frame. If you’ve been to the mountains, attach tiny pine cones or stones to the board. There is no limit to what you can do to personalize your postcard display board.

6
Hang your postcard display board. Many bulletin boards are sold with hangers or you can buy your own at a home improvement store.

Tips & Warnings
You can also use an old picture frame as display board. Cut a piece of heavy cardboard to fit the frame and add the postcards.
Be sure to do a rough layout on the bulletin board before you permanently affix the postcards. If you need to remove a postcard, you may damage it.
