Step 1
Sign up for Latin dance classes in your area. Look for ballroom dance schools and community education classes. There are many different types of Latin dances, so you can choose from many classes. Popular Latin dance classes include salsa, merengue, mambo, samba and tango.
-
Step 2
Take a Salsa Boot Camp in your area (see Resources below), or head to the local fitness store and pick up salsa dance and Latin dance tapes.
-
Step 3
Go to a salsa or Latin club. Practice your dance moves on the floor with a partner. Or go out with a friend and practice dance moves with the pros on the dance floor. Latin dance clubs are a great way to practice moves you've already learned and to pick up new dance steps.
-
Step 4
Try out for Latin dance groups, dance competitions and dance-offs, once you feel comfortable with the Latin dance moves you've learned. Perform and make a name for yourself.
-
Step 5
Put yourself on tape dancing with a partner. Then, look out for casting notices that are seeking Latin dancers. Send your tape in when you see those notices. Sometimes Latin dancers are used for films, in theater productions and for television shows.
