Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Using your scissors, cut all the scrap material pieces in the shapes you want them. Squares are easier to handle, but it is your preference.

  2. Step 2

Place two pieces of material together with the edges even and then push a dressmakers pin through the material.

  3. Step 3

Sew each pinned piece with your sewing machine, repeating until all pieces are sewed together in pairs.

  4. Step 4

Take each sewn piece and then place it with another sewn piece and pin together. Continue to sew each piece together until you have a sizable piece of patchwork material.

  5. Step 5

Pin the shirt pattern to the material and cut out the different pieces of the pattern.

  6. Step 6

Follow the instructions on the shirt pattern, and sew the shirt pieces together.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can make other things out of scrap material besides a shirt, such as a set of curtains, a skirt or even a quilt.
