How to Apply a Temporary Tattoo

Temporary tattoos are a great way to express yourself without the permanence of a real tattoo. They are also great for kids and can make terrific party favors. These tattoos can be purchased online from many sources, relatively cheaply. They are easily removed when you tire of them or they begin to fade or wear off. Temporary tattoos are also easily applied in only a couple minutes.

• Washcloth

1. Locate the spot you want to apply the tattoo. Temporary tattoos easily wear off, so keep that in mind and try not to apply them where they will be wiped off clothing.

2. Wet your washcloth. Ring it out but not too much. You want it to be wet but not dripping. The moisture from the washcloth is what will help transfer your tattoo from the paper to your skin.

3. Place the paper with the temporary tattoo on it directly on your skin where you wish it to be. Make sure the tattoo is facing your skin and not outward. You should be able to tell, because the side with the tattoo will have more texture.

4. Place the wet washcloth directly over the tattoo and hold it in place for thirty seconds.

5. Remove the wet washcloth, leaving the paper on your skin.

6. Gently pull the paper away, making sure the tattoo sticks to your skin rather than the paper. If it is continuing to stick to the paper, reapply the wet washcloth for another 15 seconds.
