No one likes to have blemishes, and traditional makeup can cake, making a blemish look more obvious. Mineral makeup allows you to layer the foundation in light layers over the blemish. You end up with smooth-looking skin with a natural finish. It's easy to get the coverage you need without concealer. All you need is mineral foundation and a little patience.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mineral makeup foundation
  • Small, flat concealer brush
  • Kabuki or other face brush
  • Makeup primer
  1. Step 1

Apply your makeup primer in a thin layer to clean, dry skin. Primers are available as liquid or powder. If using a liquid primer, allow it to dry completely before applying your mineral makeup. Primers smooth the skin and help give your mineral makeup staying power, even in hot or humid conditions.

  2. Step 2

Dip your concealer brush into your foundation and tap the excess off the brush by gently striking it against the lip of your makeup container. Press the foundation onto the blemish in short, quick strokes. Do not over apply. This will cause the makeup to settle in lines and pores.

  3. Step 3

Blend the edges of the makeup into your skin for the most natural look. To make blending easier, trying dampening your brush and smoothing the foundation. Allow to dry before proceeding to the next step.

  4. Step 4

Dip your face brush into your foundation and tap the excess foundation from the brush. Using a circular motion, blend the makeup into your skin in a light layer. For more coverage, continue applying in light layers until your desired coverage level is reached.
