The Epson PictureMate photo printer is a popular and economical printer for home photography enthusiasts. It is like having a photo lab in your home. The PictureMate is compact, simple to use and can access your photo files from a variety of sources, including your computer, any popular media card, your digital camera or USB flash drive. It can even receive photos from your cell phone with the optional Bluetooth adapter. You may print so many photos that you’ll need to replace the photo cartridge on a regular basis.

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn the PictureMate Printer off by pressing and releasing the "On" button. Observer the LCD screen. Once it goes blank, disconnect the power cord from the power source. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.

      Turn the PictureMate Printer around so you have access to the back of the printer. Flip the handle from the back to the front of the printer. Open the photo cartridge door located at the bottom of the back of the printer by putting your finger into the indention in the door and pulling out and down.

      Push the release lever located behind the photo cartridge door to the left. Pull the photo cartridge straight out. Dispose of the old photo cartridge in a plastic bag and place it is the trash.

      Keep the new photo cartridge in its original packaging. Shake the photo cartridge back and forth several times. Open the packaging. Remove the photo cartridge and properly dispose of the packaging.

      Ensure the release lever is in the release position on the left side of the back of the printer. Insert the new photo cartridge with the label side up into the photo cartridge slot. Ensure the photo cartridge is fully inserted and that the photo cartridge is not crooked.

      Push the release lever to the right to the locked position. If the release lever will not seat in the locked position, remove the new photo cartridge and re-insert it insuring it is fully inserted and is not crooked.

      Close the photo cartridge door. Flip the handle from the front of the printer to the back. Plug the power cord back into the power source. Plug the USB cable back into the computer. Press and release the "On" button to turn the PictureMate Printer on.

Tips & Warnings

  • Ensure you have a new print cartridge before you begin to replace the old cartridge. Once the process begins, you must complete all of the steps in a single session.

  • Do not touch the circuit board on the photo cartridge or it may not print properly.

  • Install the photo cartridge immediately after removing it from its packaging or it may not print properly.

  • Old photo cartridges may still contain ink. Handle them carefully to prevent spilling.

  • If you get ink on your skin, wash the area immediately with soap and water.

  • If you get ink in your eyes, flush them immediately with cool water. If you experience discomfort or vision problems after flushing your eyes, seek immediate medical attention.

  • If the photo cartridge is not properly inserted, it may leak.
