1
Decide what type of paper you would like to use for your fortune cookies. Choosing a paper to complement the type of party you are having is your best bet.
-
2
Prepare your paper by making sure that it is a perfect circle. Use any round item as a template, such as a small bowl. Just remember that the size of your circles will determine the size of your fortune cookies!
-
3
Cut as many circles as necessary, to make the amount of paper fortune cookies that you will need. It is a good idea to cut some extra, just in case you have a few extra guests.
-
4
Place one of the cut out paper circles in front of you. If you have a paper circle that has a pattern on only one side, place the pattern side down. Meaning, the side with no pattern should be visible.
-
5
Fold the paper circle in half. You do not need to make a hard crease, just gently fold the bottom end up to meet the top.
-
6
Take both outer edges and pull them down to meet each other. Once again, you do not need to form a hard crase, a slight tug downwards on both ends will form your shape. Your paper will now look like a fortune cookie.
-
7
Add a dab of glue where the two ends meet to secure them. In order to hold the shape of your fortune cookie the glue is necessary.
-
8
Cut two pieces of paper 3 inches by 1/4 inch; you may also use ribbon. The pieces of paper will be your fortunes that stick out of the paper fortune cookie.
-
9
Write your fortune on the paper or ribbon with a metallic marker. Write a greeting, fortune, thank you, or whatever type of saying you like.
-
10
Attach each of the fortune papers to the ends of the fortune cookie. Place a dab of glue on the inside ends of the paper fortune cookie to attach them, and make them look like they are starting from the inside.
-
11
Continue the process until you have created as many paper fortune cookies as you need for your party.
