Instructions

    • 1

Decide which color you will need to accomplish the look that you want. You can make them darker, but you will need to know what shade to use. There are usually light brown, dark brown and black colored tints available.

    • 2

Squeeze the recommended amount of eyelash tint into your mixing bowl, and mix with the proper amount of developer that is suggested by the manufacturer. Mix well, using a cotton swab.

    • 3

Apply, starting with the top lashes. Before applying to the bottom, tuck a small piece of tissue below the lower lashes so that the wet lashes don't touch your skin. You don't want your skin tinted too!

    • 4

Allow the tint to work it's magic. The tint should be left on the lashes anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes, depending on manufacturer's instructions.

    • 5

Dab a bit of witch hazel onto a cotton cleansing pad, and remove the tint from the lashes after the recommended time. Do this carefully, being cautious not to get the tint into your eyes.

    • 6

Repeat the process occasionally, as needed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always try a lighter shade of brown first. You can always go darker, but you can't go lighter.

  • This process also works for eyebrows. Eyelash tints can usually be used for both purposes.

  • Remember that you are working around the eyes, a very sensitive area. Work cautiously and carefully.

  • Never use ordinary hair color to tint your lashes or eyebrows! These products are very strong and can end up burning your eyes.

  • Using any kind of bleach on your lashes, is a dangerous practice.

  • If the tint gets in your eyes, rinse immediately with cool water.
