VistaPrint is a widely used printing company that actually provides customized business cards for little to no cost. In addition to more premium features, VistaPrint provides a wide variety of business card templates, some of which can be obtained for only the price of shipping and handling. These business cards can be a fine addition to your social-networking skills without breaking the bank.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Visit vistaprint.com. You will be greeted by a variety of available products, including everything from brochures to magnets to sticky notes. VistaPrint is especially well-known for its business cards, however, the links for which should dominate the top of the page. You may also want to keep your eyes peeled for limited-time deals for discounted premium products.

  2. Step 2

Shop around. Browse through the available options, most notably the sections for 'Free Business Cards' or 'Premium Business Cards.' VistaPrint's Free Business Cards come in dozens of potential layouts and designs, whereas Premium Business Cards can be customized to your preferences, even to the point of uploading your own designs or logos to be printed.

  3. Step 3

Click on the thumbnail image for the business card that appeals to you, or, alternatively, upload your design. You will be directed to a page that features a central image of your selected card adorned with sample text. On the left of the page, you can enter the information you would like to have printed on your card: Company Name, Job Title, Phone Number, Address, Email.

  4. Step 4

Enter the information you would like to see on your completed business card. As it is entered, it will be displayed in the appropriate place on the image of the business card. Play about with the layout: leaving the surrounding lines blank can give extra emphasis to your Job Title, for example, or otherwise keep your card direct and to the point. One or multiple lines can be used for quotes--anything from Oscar Wilde to Omar Khayyam. Continue until satisfied.

  5. Step 5

Enter your initials for On-Line Proof Approval and click "Next". Follow VistaPrint through the steps required for final approval, payment and product options. Select your desired options--how many cards, matte or glossy paper and so on--and continue to check-out. Enter an accurate address for shipping and click "Purchase." Your cards should arrive in 1 to 3 weeks.

Tips & Warnings
  • Business cards are a useful commodity even for those who don't have a business. An increasing number of young people use VistaPrint to advertise their services as musicians, sandwich artists or drinking partners.
