Instructions

    • 1

Set up the typewriter and adjust the tool bar settings where the paper or in this case, the envelope, will rest. Put a test envelope into the type set bar. Make sure the envelope is upside down with the flap facing you. Use the enter tab or scroll with the side winder to your desired location. Start with the top left hand corner where the return address will go.

    • 2

Type the return address on the upper left corner. Use the enter tab to skip to the next line. If that is too far apart for you, use the side scroll winder to wind down less than a full line. Move down a few lines and move the bar to the center of the envelope. Type the recipient's name and address. Take note of where you started the line by looking at the number line and making sure to line up the next line at the same point.

Open up your word processing program on your computer. Go to the "tools" section and search for templates. There should be a designated area for envelopes in the templates section. Look at the box your envelopes are in. They should have a name and size. Scroll down the list and find the designated listing for your envelope type. Select it and press "OK" and then "ENTER."

Wait for the window to open up with the envelope settings. Type in the information you want on the envelope in the text boxes provided. Preview the envelope on the screen to make sure the settings and information are correct. Put an envelope in the printer, upside down, flap facing you. Print the envelope out and let it dry. That's it! You're ready to type on all your envelopes.
