How to Set Preferences on an HP Officejet 5600 All-in-One

The HP Officejet 5600 All-in-One, when combined with HP’s Image Zone software, allows users to fax, scan, copy and print in photo quality. Once you have completed all the steps in the setup guide, you’ll need to set your preferences in order to take advantage of all the features of your Officejet 5600. Preferences include--but are not limited to--language, country, region, date and ring volume. You can also set preferences for the answer mode on the fax.

      Set your preference for language and country/region by pressing the Setup button located at the bottom center of the control panel. Press the 7 key to select Preferences. Press the 1 key to select Set Language & Country/Region. Press the right or left arrow key to scroll through the languages until your preferred language appears in the LED screen. Press the OK button, located between the right and left arrow keys, to select your language. When prompted, press the 1 key for "Yes" or the 2 key for "No.

      Press the right or left Arrow keys to scroll through the Countries/Regions list until your preferred country/region appears in the LED screen. Press the OK button. When prompted, press the 1 key for "Yes" or the 2 key for "No."

      Set the date and time that will appear on your fax header by pressing the Setup button. Press the 6 key to select Tools. Press the 3 key to select Date and Time. Key in the month, day and year by pressing the appropriate numeric keys. Key in the hour and minutes by pressing the appropriate numeric keys. Press the 1 key for AM or the 2 key for PM.

      Adjust the ring and speaker volume by pressing the Setup button. Press the 4 key to select Basic Fax Setup. Press the 5 key to select Ring and Beep Volume. Press the right arrow key to select your desired volume level. Press the OK button.

Tips & Warnings

  • In some countries, the date and time stamp on fax headers is a legal requirement.
