How to make a Versatile Butterscotch Sauce!

This is a simple rich sauce, ideal as a topping for ice cream and plain cakes or puddings.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  1. Step 1

    In a heavy saucepan, stir together the corn syrup and brown sugar. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly for 5 minutes.

  2. Step 2

    Remove mixture from heat. Blend in well the salt, butter, and vanilla.

  3. Step 3

    Cool the mixture. Enjoy!
