How to Make Perfume Body Oils

Making perfumed body oils is not only easy but is a more natural choice. Using essential oils to scent your body oil or massage oil is a wonderful way to create your own signature scent, depending upon your mood. Essential oils, unlike synthetic fragrances, are a better choice, particularly for those folks who are sensitive to chemicals or have allergies to synthetic fragrances. Read on to learn how to make perfume body oils.

Things You'll Need

  • Glass amber or blue cobalt bottle
  • Olive oil or jojoba oil
  • Two or three essential oils of your choice

Choose your carrier oil. Olive oil is a great choice as a massage oil. A thicker oil can be made using jojoba oil.

Choose your favorite essential oils. Only use two or three. Less is more in the world of essential oils.

For every 4 oz. of carrier oil, add no more than 10 to 15 drops of essential oils. Let your nose be your guide. Add drops slowly and mix well. Test before adding more.

Once you have mixed your oils (and you can mix them right in your bottles), shake well and place the cap on tightly.

Before using again, be sure to shake well to disperse the oils.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always mix essential oils in a well ventilated area with easy access to hot water.
