Things You'll Need:
- Red bee balm plants
- Gardening tools
- Water
-
Step 1
Plant the bee balm as early as possible in the season, so you'll have flowers for much of the summer.
-
Step 2
Contrast this plant with other brightly colored flowers for a strong impact. Red bee balm looks wonderful next to day lilies in yellow and orange or next to gold daisies.
-
Step 3
Plant some low-growing white petunias in front of the bee balm to add contrast.
-
Step 4
Add a "goth" look to your border by mixing in some deep-purple or black iris plants with the bee balm. This unusual look will attract a lot of attention.
-
Step 5
Plant the border in an area visible from the windows in your home, and place a hummingbird feeder in the midst of the bee balm. The red color of the flowers will attract an abundance of hummingbirds.
