Snake bite shots are popular in bars all over the country. There are a bevy of different variations such as a Yukon snake bite or a chocolate snake bite but a basic snake bite shot features a combination of whiskey and lime juice.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Fill a standard shot glass three-quarters full with whiskey.

  2. Step 2

Add lime juice to the shot glass until it is full.

  3. Step 3

Put ice in a cocktail shaker.

  4. Step 4

Pour the shot glass's mixture into the cocktail shaker.

  5. Step 5

Cover the cocktail shaker and shake the mixture, fully combining the whiskey and lime juice.

  6. Step 6

Place a cocktail strainer over the top of the shaker and pour the mixture back into the shot glass. You now have a snake bite shot so toss it back and feel the bite

  7. Step 7

Use Yukon Jack, a honey-based whiskey liqueur, instead of traditional whiskey for a Yukon Snake Bite shot.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use Yukon Jack, a honey-based whiskey liqueur, instead of traditional whiskey for a Yukon snake bite shot.
  • For a chocolate snake bite shot, mix equal parts Bailey's Irish cream, creme de cacao, cinnamon schnapps and Kahlua. Follow the same shaking and pouring procedure.
  • For a spicier snake bite, add two drops of Tabasco or hot sauce to the mixture prior to shaking.
  • Always drink responsibility.
  • Never drink and drive. If you are drinking away from your home, designate a driver.
