Taking pictures of landscape design is great to do if you are hired by a landscape company or are taking pictures to get ideas for you own yard. If you know how to use a camera and have basic knowledge of photo editing then you should not have a problem getting the pictures you want.

Taking pictures of landscape design are best taken at certain times of day and on certain types of day. Landscape design pictures are best taken either early in the day or late in the day because of the color of the sky and the location of the sun. If an image must be taken in the middle of the day and the sky is shown, then try to get clouds in the shot to add depth and character to the image.

  2. Step 2

Balance is important in landscape images. It is awkward to have a pole sticking out of the side of an image with nothing on the other side. Balance is also about empty space or spaces that are too busy with objects. If possible, move objects around to find the most aesthetically pleasing image.

  3. Step 3
The focus of this image is the concrete patio but it is accentuated by having the plant in the image as well.

Focus on the object you like best in the design or what aspect you would like to look its best. Some parts of landscape design are only attractive when surrounded by other parts of the landscape. If you are focusing on one section of a landscape design, such as a stamped concrete patio, then be sure to show the patio with flowers or a patio set instead of just a shot of the stamped concrete.

  4. Step 4

Take before and after pictures of the landscape design. Before and after pictures help others to see what exactly has been done to the property and can help the new landscape design stand out.

  5. Step 5
Getting on the ground to shoot these flowers creates a different affect than if you had taken the image from above.

Get on the ground or shoot a garden from an upstairs deck. This can give a distinctive view for a landscape design and can make the image look much different than if you stood in front of it and snapped a picture.
