Are you sick of your acrylic nails but don't want to pay to have them yanked off? Keep your money in the bank. Try this alternative to a nail salon.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

First, start with a clean slate. Wash your hands. Clip the end of the nails as short as you desire.

  2. Step 2

Put a little of alcohol in a bowl that your hand will fit in. You can do each hand individually or soak them at the same time. Allow hands to soak for at least 5 minutes.

  3. Step 3

Use paper towels to wipe off the acrylic. The alcohol will make them dissolve. They won't be completely dissolved after one soaking. Take the nail file and file the top of your nails to further remove the acrylic.

  4. Step 4

Put your hands back in the alcohol and soak them for an additional 5 minutes.

  5. Step 5

Repeat process of step 3 until all the acrylic is removed. This is the best way to remove acrylic without hurting yourself, but you need to have the time to do it.

  6. Step 6

If time is short, use a fake plastic nail to get under your acrylic nails. Soak your nails as mentioned in steps one and two. Next, find a point on your nails where your natural nail and acrylic aren't attached. Take the fake plastic nail, wedge it between your natural nail and acrylic and work it across your nail so the acrylic comes off. This is a method that will hurt, so choose a method at your digression.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always clean your nail clippers. Even if you are the only one that uses them, bacteria can still manifest.
