How to Clean Beach Glass Jewelry

Beach glass jewelery is a wonderful addition to your jewelry box. Not only are you guaranteed to own a one of a kind piece of jewelry but most beach glass jewelry is designed in such a way that it looks great when paired with casual outfits (such as jeans and a sweater) or when worn with more formal attire. Beach glass jewelry makes a wonderful conversion piece. The one thing that can mar the beauty of a nice piece of beach glass jewelry, is a layer of dust and grime. Regularly cleaning your beach glass jewelry is important if you want the unique piece of jewelry to retain its sparkle. The good news is that cleaning beach glass jewelry is inexpensive and will only take a few seconds of your time.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mild detergent
  • Jewelery cleaner
  • Soft cloth
  • Silver cleaner
  • Soft jewelry brush
  • Cold water
  • Murphy s Oil soap
  • Leather conditioner
  1. Step 1

    Remove any leather pieces from your beach glass jewelry. You will have to clean this separately from the beach glass and metal.

  2. Step 2

    Mix a small amount of the mild detergent (Ivory soap works well and dilute it with cold water.

  3. Step 3

    Submerge your piece of beach glass jewelry into the detergent.

  4. Step 4

    While the jewelry is submerged, gently scrub it with the soft jewelry brush.

  5. Step 5

    When you are satisfied that your beach glass jewelry is free of all dirt and debris, remove it from the detergent and carefully dry it with a clean towel.

  6. Step 6

    Use the silver polish and polish any silver that is on your beach glass jewelry, such as hooks, wire wrapping or chains

  7. Step 7

    If your beach glass jewelry is attached to a leather thong, you will have to gently wipe it clean with a mixture of water and Murphy's oil soap.

  8. Step 8

    After cleaning the leather thong, you will have to massage some leather conditioner into the strap so that it remains soft and supple.

Tips & Warnings
  • Putting your beach glass jewelry on after you've finished applying your lotion or perfume will help keep your jewelry clean for long periods of time.
