Versing a wedding invitation should not be stressful for the bride and groom. Consider the wedding invitation your way of thanking your closest friends and family members for all they have done to help you become the happy couple you are today. Each of these people on your invitation list has probably had some part in each of your lives, which affected you and helped you reach this day. Verse the wedding invitation so it is sincere and heartfelt.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pen
  • Paper
  1. Step 1

Start the wedding invitation with a quote or lyrics from you favorite love song, when the couple is doing the inviting. Modern weddings are not always given by the bride's family or the groom's family. When the couple is hosting the wedding, it is appropriate to use the couple's name. For example: "Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan, together with their family, request the honor of your presence as they join together in marriage..."

  2. Step 2

Begin the wedding invitation with the name of the bridal party's parents if they are hosting the wedding. For example, if the bride's parents are hosting the wedding, the proper wording would be "Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their daughter Daisy Buchanan to Jay Gatsby."

  3. Step 3

Write out the date in the next section: "on Sunday, the Fourteenth of February." Also write out the year in words, not in numbers. Include the time which should also be written out. For example "at half past ten in the morning..."

  4. Step 4

List the name and complete address of the location of the wedding ceremony. Place the name of the location on one line, followed by the street address on the next, and the city and state on the final line.

  5. Step 5

Include a short sentence about the reception. For example, "Reception immediately following." If the reception is at a different location than the wedding ceremony, include the name and address of the reception as well.
