How to Draw a Daisy
A daisy is a common flower that can be seen in many different colors. There are about 30 different species of daisies, including the easily-recognizable Gerbera Daisy. Draw different sizes of this flower and color each one with colored pencil to create a drawing of a vase of daisies for a field of daises. Having a picture of a Gerbera Daisy or a real daisy in front of you will help you draw your first flower.

1
Draw a circle about the size of quarter in the center of the paper. Fill in the circle completely making small, dark swirls and circles. Continue until the center is black with a few spots of white paper showing through. Those are the disk florets.
-
2
Continue making a small swirls in a clockwise motion around the center disk. This ring of tiny petals around the center disk is called the trans florets. While they look like tiny, curled petals close up, they can be drawn as tiny ringlets and still look right. This ring of circles around the center disk should leave at least half of the white of the paper visible.

Add petals to the daisy. Start by making a long curved line about an inch and half long. Curve the edge and then continue down drawing the other side of the petal, in a mirror image of the first line. Add a couple of light lines inside the petal. Draw more long petals around the center, in the noon position, the 3 o'clock position, the 6 o'clock position and the 9 o'clock position.
-
4
Draw smaller versions of the same shape petal in between the longer petals. Draw medium-sized petals and small petals. Vary the length of each petal to make the daisy look more realistic.
-
5
Sketch a long line from the bottom of the flower to the bottom of the drawing paper. Add a second parallel line about a pea's length away. Draw a small rectangle in the stem that can remain a white reflection spot. Color in the stem with the pencil.

Tips & Warnings
It's okay to overlap the petals to make the daisy look more natural.
Do not leave the ends of the petals pointed, they should be rounded for a Gerbera Daisy drawing.
