How to Build a Squirrel Corn Cob Feeder

Squirrels are a delight to watch when they run, climb and play in the trees. Make a feeder for the squirrels. Squirrels love corn and this feeder provides not only the food but a place for them to sit while eating. Pull out your hammer and saw and whip up a squirrel feeder.with these easy steps.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Piece of 3/4" cedar wood
  • Saw
  • Nails
  • Hammer
  • Corn cob
  1. Step 1

    Take the 3/4-inch piece of wood and cut one piece nine inches high by five inches wide.

  2. Step 2

    Cut another piece 5 inches by 5 inches.

  3. Step 3

    Nail the smaller piece of wood to the bottom of the longer piece. It will resemble a shelf

  4. Step 4

    Turn the corn cob holder upside down and hammer a long nail through the center of the shelf so the pointed end sticks through on the right side.

  5. Step 5

    Attach the shelf to a tree by nailing the back of the long piece to the tree.

  6. Step 6

    Attach the corn cob to the nail on the shelf so the cob stands straight up. Now you're ready to watch the squirrels come by and feed.

  • Be sure to have an adult help out if children will be doing this project.
