Select the NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) CPT Plus package to study for the certification exam. Go to the National Academy of Sports Medicine (see Resources below) to purchase the CPT Plus package to prepare for the multiple-choice test questions.

Complete a CPR class to receive a certification. Take a CPR instruction class at a local American Red Cross while studying for the exam to obtain certification.

Contact a local American Red Cross to receive an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.You can also enroll in an AED class at the American Heart Association.

Call the LaserGrade Central Registration to schedule an available Las Vegas testing site, date and time. Contact the NASM official proctored mediator at (800) 211-2754 to secure your exam date.

Take the 120-question exam and verify a passing score upon completion of the test. Present your CPR card, AED certification and photo identification at the testing center to take the exam. Log on to your NASM membership page after 5 business days to print your personal trainer certification.
