How to Use Google Blog Search and Pinging Service
An internet search can return multiple articles, books and advertisements about a given topic. But, if you're simply looking for what bloggers have to say on a certain subject, it can be frustrating to sort through all that information. Google Blog Search and Pinging Service not only allows you to search through blog results, but to add your own blog posts to the mix. It's free and easy to use, and can be easily customized.

1
You can access Google Blog Search via any Google page by clicking on on the "More" link at the top of the page. Go to "Even More" and click on "Blog Search" on the ensuing page. Alternatively, you can navigate directly to the URL of Google Blog Search (see Resources).
-
2
Decide in which languages you would like to read results by setting your preferences. Click on the "Preferences" link next to the search bar. Choose your native (interface) language from the drop-down menu and check off the boxes next to the languages in which you'd like to see blog entries. You can also set filtering options to either bar or allow explicit content.

3
Narrow your search results by using the Advanced Search option. Once you click on the "Advanced Search" link next to the search box, you will be brought to a page that helps you to create a very specific search. Enter phrases, words or terms you are looking for; narrow your search to certain blog titles and/or authors; and choose a date range within which to search.
-
4
Keep Google's database updated on your own latest blog posts by using the Blog Search Pinging Service. Add your blog to the service by going to the URL and entering in your blog's address or RSS feed information (see Resources). It may take a few days for your blog to be indexed.
-
5
Ping Google Blog Search each time you update your blog. However, if you use a commercial blog service, you may want to check to make sure it's not already submitting information to Google. If Google is flooded with requests or information about the same URL, it may regard it as spam and disregard it.
