How to Make Simple Chocolate Sauce

Chocolate sauce is chocolate melted to the point where it can be poured over ice cream, plain cakes or puddings. Most chocolate sauce recipes can be put together in a matter of minutes. Does this Spark an idea?

  • 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Instructions

      Put the butter and chocolate in a heavy saucepan over low heat. Stir until both melt.

      Remove the mix from heat and stir in the salt, water and sugar. Return the mix to the heat and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

      Remove the sauce from the heat. After a few minutes, stir in the vanilla. Let the sauce cool before it is served.
