How to Hang Window Mini Blinds
Window blinds or coverings are a must for any home or apartment. Custom made blinds can be very expensive and unpractical, especially if you are renting. While they may not be as attractive as custom made blinds, mini blinds provide the privacy you need, and they are also a very cost effective solution. Mini blinds can be installed quickly and easily by following the proper steps.

1
Measure the window or windows you are going to be hanging the blinds in. You need to measure both the width and height of the window.
-
2
Purchase the correct sized mini blinds for your windows based of your measurements. Mini blinds come in numerous sizes listed by width and length. The actual width of a mini blind is 1/2 inch less than what it is listed at in order for inside window mounting so take that into consideration when choosing the proper size.
-
3
Remove any previous blinds or window dressings if any. Hold the fully opened mini blind with the end brackets attached in the top of the window. Check to make sure the mini blind fits both vertically and horizontally. If there are any gaps horizontally, center the blind in the window using a ruler to measure equal separation and mark the top of the window with a pencil at the edge of each bracket.
-
4
Remove the brackets and set aside the mini blind. Using a one to two inch wide level, place the level against the window. Hold the bracket against the level. This is to ensure all of your brackets are an equal distance from the window. Place a mark on the window around the bracket and the holes inside the bracket that will attach it to the window.
-
5
Drill the bracket holes you previously marked using a drill bit smaller in diameter than the screws you will be using. Hold the bracket in place and using a screwdriver mount it to the window. Once in place, insert the mini blind into the bracket and hold it in place while you mark around the edge of the opposite bracket.
-
6
Remove the mini blind and use the level to properly place the opposite bracket on the widow. Mark the holes that need to be drilled. Drill the holes and mount it into the window using a screwdriver.
-
7
Place the mini blind into both brackets and ensure it fits firmly in the brackets. It should hang properly in the window. If everything is correct, slide on the bracket caps.
