How to Accessorize a Plain T-Shirt
Whether a T-shirt is plain or full of logos, with a pair of jeans the shirt may just look drab. So why not put some spark in your casual day? Try out some additional accessories or another layer of clothing to make your casual shirt not so casual. There are no rules that say a T-shirt cannot be fashionable.

Find a suit jacket that complements the T-shirt. A form-fitting jacket or a jacket that brings out the color in the T-shirt can give the T-shirt a contemporary edge. It's not always necessary to have a matching jacket, either, just so long as there aren't so many colors in the jacket that it looks like the person got dressed in the dark. At least make the jacket complement the shirt's colors. Beware of wearing a T-shirt with too many colors because regardless of the suit jacket, if both are too colorful the top can just look loud.

Pick a scarf that complements the T-shirt. It's not necessary to tie it like a tie. You can just swing it around your neck for that added touch, but make it a scarf that has appeal. If the top is one solid color, look for a colorful scarf to bring out the T-shirt's color so the scarf won't blend in.

Shoes can make an outfit. Even the loudest T-shirt can be outdone if the shoes are jazzy enough. Try to find shoes that match something in the top to bring it out more. In this photo, the model is wearing light brown shoes to match the gold in the top. Wearing shoes that completely match the top (such as blue from this picture) would downplay the outfit. Try to find shoes that bring out color.

Belts help bring out a slim waistline. T-shirts are not known for showing waists off, but with a belt, there's an added bonus. If the T-shirt is form fitting, the belt can be worn around the waist, but if the shirt is a little baggy, move the belt slightly above the waistline and directly below the breasts to slim the mid-area.
