Making a hand-tied bouquet is very easy to make once you know how. Hand tied bouquets are romantic and elegant looking and are used for formal and casual occasions such as weddings, proms, and those just because moments. People who see them will think they were made by a floral designer.Bouquets made with holders are less popular because of the work involved in making them and because they look less natural than the hand tied bouquets.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 12 to 18 flowers of your choice
  • 2 to 3 yards of any pretty wide ribbon
  • Floral tape
  • 6 to 8 large pearl head straight pins
  1. Step 1

Cut the stems of your flowers so that the stems measure about 6 to 8 inches in length.

  2. Step 2

Start to arrange the flowers in your hand so that the middle of the arrangement is slightly taller than the edges all around.

  3. Step 3

Using a large length of floral tape and holding the flowers firmly, wrap the tape around four inches of the stems, starting at just below the flower heads. Use an additional piece of tape if the flowers do not seem secure. You want no individual movement of any of the flowers.

  4. Step 4

Begin to wrap your ribbon around the stems starting at the top, making sure to cover the floral tape so that it doesn't show. You can either just wrap the top half of the stems so that they show through the bottom, or keep wrapping the ribbon all the way down to the bottom of the stems.

  5. Step 5

Using the pearl headed pins, stick through the ribbon at a slight angle at even intervals up the stems.
