Nothing is more decorative or festive than a wreath, and they're not just for hanging on doors. There are many kinds of wreath you can make, and the one described in the steps below, out of silk flowers is among the most pretty.Once you've decided where you'd like to hang your wreath you can shop for your flowers with a particular color scheme in mind that will go great with your room. There are several options for the base of the wreath. The first is a grape vine wreath. This would give the finished silk flower wreath a natural woodsy look. You can glue the flowers to it and the advantage here is that you don't have to cover the entire wreath to hide the base. The second option is a wire box wreath and this wreath form is just made of wire. If you choose this type you will also need to get some kind of moss or raffia to cover the wire form with. The third choice is a wreath shape made from florist foam or Styrofoam. The flowers are easy to place in this kind because you would just cut the stems short and push them through the foam. You will need a lot of flowers to cover this form or again use moss to cover it in between the flowers.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 grape vine wreath or wire box wreath, or foam wreath
  • Silk flowers of your choice
  • Floral tape
  • Moss
  1. Step 1

Cut the stems of the silk flowers to about 2 inches in length.

  2. Step 2

Using the grape vine base, take the flowers and put the stems through the base. Once you are sure of the placement of the flowers use a small amount of glue to secure the stem to the base.

  3. Step 3

Glue pieces of moss onto the wire box base if that's what you're using. Once the wire is concealed by the moss you can begin to add your flowers in the same manner as step 2.

  4. Step 4

Glue pieces of moss to the wreath base if you're using foam. Then take each flower and push the stem all the way through the moss and into the foam itself.

  5. Step 5

Keep adding flowers until you are satisfied with the results.
