  • Two soft face cloths
  • Cotton balls
  • Baby appropriate body wash
  • Small basin or sink
  • Small bowl

  1. Step 1

Gather all of your supplies together and head to a flat area near your sink. You'll need a face cloth, cotton balls, body wash, a small bowl and a towel.

  2. Step 2

Run warm water in the sink and fill it with a few inches of water. Also, fill a small bowl with warm water. Designate one face cloth for soapy water and one for plain water.

  3. Step 3

Add a small amount of body wash to the small bowl that is filled with warm water.

  4. Step 4

Lay your baby on his back on the towel.

  5. Step 5

Start with your baby's face. Moisten a cotton ball with warm water and clean your baby's eyes from the inside to the outside corner. Dunk your face cloth into the small soapy bowl and wring out the excess water. Wash your baby's face being sure to get in the folds of the neck and behind the ears. Dunk the second face cloth into the water in the sink and wring. Rinse your baby's face and neck.

  6. Step 6

Wash your baby's hair. Dunk your face cloth into the water in the sink and wring out over your baby's hair. Place a small amount of baby wash on your baby's head. Gently massage it. Rinse it out, using a face cloth and water from the sink. Wring out the face cloth over your baby's head to rinse out the soap.

  7. Step 7

Use the face cloth with soapy water to clean the rest of your baby. Pay special attention to skin folds, between your baby's fingers and toes and to his or her diaper area. Rinse your baby off using the face cloth and water from the sink.

  8. Step 8

Use the second towel to dry your baby.
