1
Find a circular object around the house that you can use as a template for your spaceship. A round plastic container will work.
-
2
Trace the outline of the round object onto one side of your construction paper. This will be the center, or the main part of your spaceship.
-
-
3
Draw a long thin oval through the center of your circle, so you should be left with an object that looks kind of like a 2-D representation of a planet with a ring. This is a great basic spaceship shape to use for your spaceship, but feel free to freehand a design of your own if you wish, just remember that you need to be able to cut it out when you are done.
-
4
Cut out your spaceship shape.
-
5
Decorate your spaceship with glitter, stickers and crayons as you wish. You can use the crayons to write the name of your spaceship on it, as well as use them to draw windows with aliens or astronauts in them. Get creative. The more unique your spaceship the better.

Tips & Warnings
When you are done making your spaceship you can punch a hole in the top of the spaceship and attach a string through the hole so that you can hang it from the ceiling if you wish.
Remember to decorate your spaceship on the opposite site of where you drew your outline before you cut it out, that way the outline lines don't get in your way.
If you don't think that you can draw the aliens or people the way that you want then you might consider using stickers instead of drawing them. Your local craft store is sure to have a ton of stickers in their scrapbooking section, so you will probably have no problem finding ones that you like.
Don't leave the kids unattended with the scissors. In fact, depending on the ages of the children, it may be best if the adults cut out their spaceships for them, or if safety scissors are used rather than adult scissors.
