Believe it or not, I love to wallpaper, and I have a trash bag or two full of leftover rolls, when I measured incorrectly. Being too lazy to return the stuff, I've found other creative uses.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • leftover walpaper
  • creative thinking
  • "waste not,want not" mentality
  1. Step 1

Wallpaper, with a vinyl sheen is just perfect for cupboard liners. You can wipe up spills--or replace cheaply.

  2. Step 2

Because of it's tough-to-tear characteristics, wallpaper with flat texture can be used to wrap huge gifts. (Last Christmas, I used some pine cone wallpaper to wrap my son's new guitar case)

  3. Step 3

I'd never spend money on pre made book covers, or try to cut paper bags to fit schoolbooks. Wallpaper is cute, and easy, and if they object tote design, I just turn it inside out--and it's a plain cream color.

  4. Step 4

Maybe you've been lured into buying pricey wallies to decorate a wall or a toybox. I just look in my treasurebox, and find rolls full of wallies (when cut carefully off the roll, with SHARP scissors)ready to wet, glue and use.

Tips & Warnings
  • In tough financial times, we need to do (and teach to do) with what we have.
  • You may meet resistance from school aged kids. A trip to a wallpaper store, may produce an odd lot roll of or "Hannah Montana" a favorite sport paper for a dollar or two.
