Instructions

      Use your favorite stamps

Use rubber stamps to add character. Whether you choose something fun, or more serious in nature, rubber stamps come in all shapes, sizes and styles. Take your prefolded card, and using the stamp and ink or embossing material, stamp a pattern on your card. Use your markers to color the picture in, or a hairdryer to heat the embossing powder. Either way, the card will become a personal part of you that you are giving to someone special.

Create an egg shape out of cardboard. Trace the shape onto some multi-colored and patterned paper and cut them out. Take some green paper and cut a thin strip, about 2 inches wide and as long as the front of your card. With a scissors, cut small slots on one the top of the green paper, about 1/2-inch down to create a fringe. Glue just the bottom of the green paper to the card. Place glue on the back of your egg cutouts and slide them in multiple spaces behind the fringe. Selectively place glue in places on the top of the fring to hold the "grass" in place. Hand letter a Happy Easter message on the top of the card. For an added touch, glue one or two of the egg cutouts to the corner of your envelope.

      Combination card

Combine stamps and pattern paper. Cut a piece of patterned paper the size of your card. Cut an opening in the center and glue paper to card. Using your rubber stamps, stamp pictures into window opening. Color in with markers.

      Use ribbon to embellish

Embellish with different items for an even better look. Cut small pieces of ribbon to "tie" around an easter basket. Use microbeads to decorate stamped egg images. Use pinking shears to create a grass effect. Stamp an image onto a heavier piece of card stock, cut it out, decorate it, then glue it to your card for a more 3D effect. The possibilities are endless and only limited by your own imagination.

Tips & Warnings

  • Save leftover pieces of narrow satin ribbons to glue onto large egg cutouts, punch a hole in the top, and use for gift tags or ornaments.
