How to Treat Clean a Jeep Rag Top

Practice prevention to keep built-in grime, salt residue and road grease from building up. Purchase a long, soft-bristled brush and clean the rag top every other week with a mild dishwashing soap and water; rinse thoroughly. Or take your Jeep to the carwash and use the scrub brush and wash cycle. After rinsing, use a soft lint-free cotton cloth (cloth diapers are good) to dry.

Use a waterless hand cleaner such as GoJo (available in hardware stores) to remove stubborn stains and grease. Start with a small amount and test an inconspicuous area first. Finish with a thorough washing with mild soap and water and rinse.
