One of the most common items to harbor mildew odor are towels. Whether you threw a towel on the floor and forgot about it, or stuffed it in your gym locker only to notice a rancid stench you need to get rid of odor and do it fast. Just running it through the washing machine will not cut it.
-
2
Turn your washing machine on and set it to warm. Add two cups of vinegar to the water and then add those poor towels or any other washable items that are covered in mildew odor.
-
-
3
Allow the items to soak for a half hour.
-
4
Run the washing machine as usual. You will not use laundry detergent.
-
5
Once the load is complete run the items through the washing machine once again. This time no vinegar and detergent.
-
6
As soon as the load is complete immediately put it in the dryer. Run the dryer on high. Remove and smell your fresh new mildew free towels.

Confusing statement, "This time no vinegar and detergent". Do you mean no vinegar or detergent? The wash load would really just be a rinse in that case. -
