Double miniature carnation corsage

Double carnation corsages are a decorative piece for a woman to wear for many occasions. Carnation corsages look nice with touches of babies breath and other tiny flower stems. They are to be pinned to the shoulder, a purse or even a hat if desired. A corsage made with miniature carnations work well for young ladies and petite women. Carnation corsages can be embellished with greenery such as leather leaf. Tufts or puffs of nylon netting make the corsage look more feminine and elegant.

    • 2

Push a 6 inch piece of florist wire through the carnation on the right side to the left. Push a second wire through the carnation from the left to right side. Bend wires pointing down.

    • 3

Wrap with floral tape to cover wire. Repeat with second carnation.

    • 4

Take one wired carnation and place a piece of greenery and babies breath behind it if desired. Wrap with floral tape to secure.

    • 5

Add three nylon net tufts to one carnation if you are using full size carnations It is easier to tape them together now. Repeat with three more tufts with second carnation.

    • 6

Place one carnation under the other and floral tape the wired stems together securely.

    • 7

      Tie on corsage bow.

    Nylon Net Corsage Tufts

    • 8

Cut six squares of fine nylon netting about 2 1/2 inches wide. It is easier to cut if you fold the netting back and cut right down the fold.

    • 9

Cut six 5 inch pieces of florist wire. Pinch the middle of the nylon square between your thumb and forefinger. Push wire through the point of the pinched nylon net.

    • 10

Wrap wire and bottom edge of nylon with floral tape to make a tuft or puff.

    • 11

      Complete the other tufts.

Tips & Warnings

  • The stems of a corsage should always point down when pinned on. To help you remember, stems are on the bottom of flowers.

  • Be sure to cover all wires to prevent injury and garment tears.
