Bruises are a natural part of life. You can be as cautious and careful as you like, but bruises are something that can never be 100% avoided. At one time or another throughout our lives, we will all be plagued by a bruise, and often it is unsightly and painful. There are steps that can be taken to remove a bruise though, and to make it heal faster.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Aloe vera
  • Washcloths
  • Cotton balls
  • Cabbage
  • Pot
  • Water
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Old toothbrush
  • Amica gel
  • Ice pack
  • Fresh thyme
  • Bathtub
  1. Step 1

Apply an ice pack to the area as soon as a bruise occurs. The sooner you apply the ice, the better chance you have of reducing the swelling and severity of the bruise. Leave the ice pack on the area of the bruise for 30 minutes, and apply it again at regular intervals throughout the first 24 hours.

  2. Step 2

Placing aloe vera on the area can help remove the bruise quickly. The gel found inside of the aloe plant has many natural healing properties, and works well on minor bruises and other injuries.

  3. Step 3

Rubbing the bruised area in a circular manner with an old toothbrush will also help in the removal of a bruise. Although this method may be painful, it will restore the circulation to the bruise, and will help to diminish its appearance.

  4. Step 4

Soak the leaves of a cabbage head in hot water, and then apply it to the affected area. This is a natural remedy that can help in bruise removal. Let the cabbage leaf rest on the bruise for at least 15 minutes, but make sure it is not too hot before applying it to your skin.

  5. Step 5

Boil thyme in a pot of water for 10 minutes or so. Let it sit for several minutes to cool, and then drain the water into a separate pot. Throw the thyme leaves away, but add the boiled thyme water to a bathtub and soak your bruises in the mixture for 30 minutes.

  6. Step 6

Applying Amica gel to a bruise with a cotton ball is a method you may find extremely effective when removing bruises. Amica gel that is from the Amica plant can be found in many health shops worldwide, and is a natural substance used to heal bruises and sore muscles.

  7. Step 7

Pouring apple cider vinegar on a washcloth to make a compress can be quite effective when applied to bruises as well. Keep the compress tight against the bruised area for at least 10 minutes at a time.

  8. Step 8

Placing concealer and a good quality foundation over the area can also help remove the appearance of the bruise while it is healing. With properly applied makeup, it is possible that no one will even notice that you have a bruise. Whether you try all or just some of the steps provided, the methods found here will help to remove your bruises quickly and efficiently.
