Instructions

    • 1

Start with a clean, white T-shirt. Wash the shirt and thoroughly dry it. This will insure that any shrinking of the shirt has already occurred. It is best to use a T-shirt that is a polyester and cotton blend.

    • 2

Decide if you want to iron on a transfer or something to also commemorate what the T-shirt is celebrating. You can put the class year on the front or the name of the school. Iron on the transfer using the wax paper to cover the transfer and let the T-shirt cool down.

    • 3

Wrap wax paper around your piece of cardboard. Make sure that cardboard is sturdy and is a long enough piece that is the length of the T-shirt. Place this cardboard in between the T-shirts.

    • 4

Have students or others sign the T-shirt making certain to keep the cardboard in place. This will insure that the ink does not run through to the other side of the T-shirt.

    • 5

Make certain to only wash the T-shirt in cool water after everyone has signed the shirt. This will prevent any fading of the signatures and any further shrinking of the T-shirt.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use different color Sharpie's to distinguish between boys and girls or teachers and students.

  • Consider using stamps and ink to stamp words such as friends, classmates, senior year or any words that you think would work on the shirt.

  • Make certain to always keep the cardboard and wax paper between the T-shirt to prevent any ink from running through.

  • Request that people not sign too large so that everyone has room to sign.

  • Ask people not to sign anything that is questionable or they themselves would not wear.
