Instructions

    • 1

Escape from the mad wizard Irenicus' dungeon at the start of the game and make your way into the city of Athkatla.

    • 2
      The Bridge District

Travel to Athkatla's Bridge District and enter the Five Flagons Inn. Go to the basement and watch the play that is being performed. After the act is finished, a woman named Raelis Shae will approach the party and ask you to save Haer'Dalis, who is being held against his will by a wizard.

    • 3

Leave the Bridge District and go to the Temple District. Use one of the manhole entrances to the sewers, then make your way to the northwestern side of the sewer area where you should find a secret door. Go through the door and up the stairs that lead to the wizard's home.

    • 4

Find the wizard and convince him to release Haer'Dalis. You can do this by either killing him, or striking a bargain to exchange Haer'Dalis' freedom for a magic mirror that was stolen from the wizard and can be found back in the sewers.

      The Planar Prison

Return to the Five Flagons Inn in the Bridge District and speak with Raelis Shae again. She will begin casting a spell to open a gateway to a different plane of existence. While casting the spell, a creature will come through and nab Raelis Shae and Haer'Dalis. Follow them through the gateway to enter the Planar Prison.

      The Bard Haer'Dalis

Fight through the Planar Prison and kill the warden to release Haer'Dalis. He will then ask to join the party permanently. Answer him in the affirmative to gain Haer'Dalis as a playable character.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you remove Haer'Dalis from the party's ranks he will return to the Five Flagons Inn. If you go there and speak with him he will join the group again.

  • The warden of the Planar Prison is a difficult enemy who is hard to take down alone unless your party is very high level. The fight will be easier if you kill the slave master and release all of the prisoners who will aid you in battle.
