You can automatically set your desktop clock for daylight saving time. This means that your computer will automatically set your desktop clock ahead for you in the springtime. These directions will tell you how to set your computer up to achieve this task.

Instructions

      Click once on the Start menu button, which is located on the taskbar.

      Find the Control Panel. Click once on it. The Control Panel window will pop up.

      Click twice on Date and Time. The Date and Time Properties window will pop up. You will see three tabs. One tab will have the words Date & Time on it. The second tab will have the words Time Zone on it. The other tab will have the words Internet Time on it.

      Click on the Time Zone tab. You will see a wide, narrow rectangle with a time zone inside of it. This rectangle will have a down arrow attached to it on the right side. Directly under this rectangle, you will see a world map. Below the world map will be the words "Automatically adjust time for daylight savings time." In front of these words will be a small square to the left of the words.

      Click once to put a check inside the small box.

      Click the Apply button at the bottom on the right side of the Time Zone tab.

      Click OK. Close the Control Panel window. Your computer will automatically adjust time for daylight saving time.
