How to Install a Bath Tub
As with any major project as installing a bathtub, the first thing to keep in mind is the building codes. These dictate what is acceptable and what is not. With that in mind, installing a bathtub can be a challenge. Some knowledge of plumbing is required as well as wall and floor construction. The next item to make note of is the type of bathtub being installed. If simply replacing the bathtub with a new one of the same make and model, there is less work involved. However, if a style and size change is desired, then remodeling the bathtub area is required. This includes plumbing, wall and floor reconstruction. Does this Spark an idea?

Set the new bathtub in place. Make certain the bathtub is securely against the studs on all three walls. If needed, remove any of the wall material that would hinder the bathtub from reaching the studs in the wall.
-
6
Level the bathtub with a carpenter’s level. Place shims under the bathtub as needed. Be certain to eliminate any "rocking" of the bathtub.
-
7
Connect the basket drain and tighten with the basket removal wrench. Wrap the thread of the plumbing with the Teflon tape. Install faucet to the plumbing.
-
8
Replace wall around bathtub so that it hides the wall flange. Caulk or seal around the bathtub as needed.

9
Turn on the main water supply and check for leaks. Allow water to flow through the drain to be certain it doesn’t leak.
