How to Make Crushed Eggshell Greeting Cards

Making a crushed eggshell greeting card is a unique way to create your own paper card. In these instructions you will find out how fun and easy this craft project is.

Things You'll Need

• Card stock
• Egg shells
• White glue with an applicator tip
• Pencil
• Imagination
• Food color (optional)

Instructions

1. Buy card stock at your local craft or paper supply store. You can also order it online. Choose colors that contrast to the lighter colored egg shells. Don't use flimsy paper. It won't hold the weight of the crushed eggshells.

2. Save egg shells from your meals and cooking. Wash them and set to dry completely on a dishcloth or paper towel. Once they are dry crush them into small pieces of different sizes.

3. Fold the card stock in half to make your greeting card. Draw a simple design on the front of the card stock lightly with a pencil. You can also just draw the design with the white glue if you prefer.

4. Apply white glue on the design of your crushed eggshell greeting card with the applicator tip. You can do it as an outlined drawing or fill in the shape completely.

5. Take pieces of crushed eggshells and carefully place them on the glue-covered areas. Press them down gently so they bind to the glue. Finish your design with crushed eggshells then set the card aside and let it dry for a few hours.
