How to Add Free Fonts to a Computer Running Windows XP
Are you tired of the same old fonts? Creating something that needs a little "zing"? It is easier than you think to find new fonts and install them onto your computer running Windows XP. Best of all, many fonts are free.
Instructions

1
Navigate to a website that has free fonts, such as UrbanFonts (urbanfonts.com), 1001 Free Fonts (1001freefonts.com) or Dafont.com.
-
2
Browse the website for a font that you really like. This may take a while because there are so many and it's fun to browse them all. After finding the desired font, click on the "Download" button. A small window will open up.
-
-
3
Click on "Open with Compressed Folder [default]." Click "OK." You will be prompted when the download is completed.
-
4
Click "Open."
-
5
On the left hand pane, click "Extract all Files." Continue clicking the "Next" prompts until you get to Finish. Click "Finish."
-
6
Navigate to the "Start" menu and select the "Control Panel." If the Category View appears, click the "Switch to Classic View" link from the left pane. Then double-click the "Fonts" Folder. Click the "Search" icon to search for the newly installed font.
-
7
Click the "All files" link. In the "Word or phrase" field, type ".ttf" (without quotes). Any font you have downloaded will appear. Stop the search once you find what you are searching for. Drag the name of the font to the left side of the screen and move it to the Fonts folder.

Tips & Warnings
Most sites have choices of Windows or MAC.
It is a good idea to only download from trusted sites. To be doubly safe, run a virus check on the files you just downloaded.
