Free printable worksheets, activities, and crafts are available online from several different sites. The 2008 Summer Olympics begin this week on August 8th in Beijing, China. Isn't it exciting? I love watching the opening ceremonies, with all of the flags waving, the athletes smiling, and wearing their countries' proud colors. It's a fantastic time in our history once again as the best of the best athletes come together to compete in sporting events to see who will come out on top.

What better time to teach our children about sports, sportsmanship, discipline and team dynamics than during the 2008 Summer Olympics. Here is a site that has FREE printable activities and worksheets on the Summer Olympics and on each individual sport featured at the Games. Print out one, two, or all of them to enrich your child's understanding of sports and the Olympics and strengthen their vocabulary, spelling, and critical thinking skills at the same time.
