Purchase splashguards from the dealer. The factory accessory will fit better than others.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Purchase appropriate mudguards from Toyota dealer. Some Corollas (XRS and S) have "ground effects". The dealer will be able to specify the correct part with your VIN number. Follow any instructions in package.

  2. Step 2

Turn front wheels to lock stop- right or left for front wheels. Depending on tire and wheel size, you may have to remove the wheels on the front or back to access the wheel well. Use a floor jack and jack stands.

  3. Step 3

line up mudguard to plastic wheel liner and mark the mounting holes with a pencil if possible. make sure all four mudguards- or at least pairs line up evenly under the car.

  4. Step 4

Use a small drill bit (should be slightly smaller than the diameter of the mounting screws) and drill holes through mudguard and plastic wheel liner gently while keeping mudguard aligned on wheel liner.

  5. Step 5

attach and tighten mounting screws through mudguard and wheel liner.

  6. Step 6

repeat steps 2-5 as needed. Check all mudguards to make sure they are firmly attached and will withstand road conditions.

Tips & Warnings
  • If drill holes are not pre-marked on mudguards, choose a spot where the drilling will not mar fender sheet metal and space the drill holes appropriately to keep the mudguard firmly attached to the wheel liner when pressed forward.
  • Be sure to always use jack stands in pairs and follow all safety precautions, including blocking the tires on the ground.
  • Use owner's manual to determine correct placement of jack and jack stands to avoid vehicle damage.
